Regnum Christi Local College. The Regnum Christi Local College is responsible for all common areas of work in the locality, including RC section apostolic work, local apostolate operations and the locality’s financial health. We are pleased to announce the new college members: Jim Gabriele, Anne Marie Goldberg, Dave Savage, Katie Keating, Fr. Peter Kim, Fr. Scott Reilly, and Fr. Michael Moriarty. In addition, we’re very grateful to outgoing college members John Volk, Corinne Murphy, Stephany Ziegler, and Helen Gabriele for their faithful and graceful service to the locality.
Fr. Reuben Nuxoll is the newest member of the Legionary community. He is from a devout Catholic family in Idaho and has a brother and four sisters, two of whom are Regnum Christi consecrated women. He studied to be a Legionary priest in New Hampshire, Connecticut, Monterrey and Rome, where he earned a licentiate degree in philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in theology, both at Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum. Between studies he helped out with secretarial assignments in New York and Atlanta. He was ordained to the priesthood on December 12, 2011, and spent the first nine years of his ministry as chaplain to Everest School in Santiago, Chile. His chaplaincy included youthwork, baptismal preparation, attention to the spiritual needs of married couples, prayer workshops and teaching the beauty of the Eucharistic celebration. On another level, he enjoys playing almost any game and sport, and he likes hiking in the mountains in particular, as it gives him the most peace and closeness to God. Other interests are reading and singing. Here in Philadelphia he will be helping with ECyD and Regnum Christi youth and adults as needed, and is eager to get to know the people he will minister to.
Fr. Peter Kim has been named superior of the Legionary community, replacing Fr. John Pietropaoli. Fr. Peter will also continue in his role as the chaplain to the women’s Regnum Christi section.
Fr. John Pietropaoli will be spending time at a Trappist monastery, to discern a calling to monastic life. We are very grateful to Fr. John for his service as superior to of the Legionary community and local Regnum Christi director, and we wish him all the best in this next step.
Fr. Aaron Loch has been named ECYD director. He will continue working closely with Fr. Michael (and Fr. Reuben) offering missions, small groups, retreats, and personal accompaniment for adolescents in the greater Philadelphia area.
Fr. Michael Moriarty has been named national director of Mission Youth. In addition to his work in Philadelphia, he will also help Regnum Christi to develop a mission culture in other cities around the country.
